Ralph Surman, born in Witney in 1965, the youngest son of Nesta ‎and Bob Surman. He attended Henry Box School and became head ‎boy in 1982-83. After completing his teacher education in Walsall, he ‎became a qualified teacher in 1987. Ralph has spent his entire career ‎teaching at the same primary school while actively participating in ‎trade unionism at local and national levels. He resides in Nottingham ‎with his partner, Kate, his five daughters and ten grandchildren. ‎Ralph's passion for history, especially Witney's blanket town, has led ‎him to start writing gripping murder mystery thrillers, featuring his ‎character Bertha Dix.‎

Fred Oliver never expected to become a writer, especially in his late sixties! His debut novel, ‘Dormant Angels’, brings together the influence of a multitude of elements from his personal and professional life. As a US Naval Officer, his travels throughout Europe and the Middle East have impressed in him how international events affect us all. ‘Dormant Angels’, no doubt, will be the subject of intellectual and spiritual debate.

The story of the protagonist, Kyle Stone, is based on Jerry Payne’s life. It was derived from his life experiences, starting when he lost his father to suicide at a tender age. He lived with several families before he found his home in the Army. After a year of intense training in combat engineering, he earned his commission as an Infantry Officer at just eighteen years old. He served during the Vietnam war and received injuries that would later become crippling. After serving in the Army, Jerry Payne started a business alongside his family. his future looked great. What followed were some of the strangest events leading up to betrayal, greed, corporate corruption, witchcraft, paranormal activity, and much more. Those years were the craziest in his life. Thus, Thief of Dreams had to be written.

Jerry Payne spent many years in the Entertainment business as a rock star manager, Concert, and Movie Producer, and was honored to be the Producer of USO Entertainment, Bob Hope, serving our military, delivering the best entertainment to those deployed throughout the world.

By producing a USO Show, he not only selected and negotiated with artists and management, formatted the show from music to comedy to dance and organized the logistics of travel.

He saw sick, terminally ill children throughout his travels and decided to do something to help them. He chose the magic of moviemaking to reach out to them. The children became the stars of their movies. The results were amazing for these children, and it gave them the will to live again.

For over twenty-five years, Jerry Payne founded ‘The United States Entertainment Force,’ a nonprofit charity serving the USA military and their families. In addition, they set up the ‘Hopes and Dreams Project,’ which was also for sick children and gave them life through the magic of moviemaking.

Looking back at his life, it seemed necessary to take the time to finish writing his story, A Uncommon Truth, from his home in California with his wife, Lynn, and dog Duke. It weaved through a time in his life when he was surrounded by those consumed by greed, corruption, and deceit as they grappled for what they could steal from what was not theirs.

In simpler times to the present, they look back, shake their heads, and be thankful they are still alive and have time to enjoy their happiness.

Today, they keep looking for hope and love for everyone.

I grew up with a talent for numbers, leading me to follow a different path.

I went to Annapolis and MIT and became a nuclear physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Only after retiring was my desire to tell stories reawakened.

In recent years, I have immersed myself in the world of words, drawing on my scientific knowledge and personal experience to shape my writing.

As a scientist, I explored physics and technology, which enabled me to create informative and insightful books, sharing my knowledge with readers who sought to expand their understanding in these areas—contributing to their intellectual growth while satisfying my own passion.

But it was my time as a naval officer, that genuinely ignited my imagination and propelled me into science fiction.

After graduating from the United States Naval Academy and serving on nuclear submarines during both hot and cold wars, I witnessed firsthand the complexities and challenges of military operations that seamen face daily.

This allowed me a unique perspective, which I channeled into creating Henry Gallant and a 22nd-century world where a space officer fought against invading aliens. Through this narrative, I explored the depths of human resilience, the mysteries of space, and the intricacies of military conflict.

Born and brought up on a farm in the Lake District, I have always loved animals, particularly horses, and the countryside.

  I now live on an equestrian yard where we have horses, dogs, chickens and a goat who lives with our miniature Shetland pony and thinks that it is a dog.

  I love to write stories that pull on your heart strings, emotional drama/real love stories about people and families who overcome all odds. They are often countryside and animal based with strong, emotional characters.

  

Charlie Boring shared a lifelong interest in prehistoric civilizations with his late daughter, Lisa. Lisa grew up listening to Charlie’s tales about cave-dwelling clans and the characters in those stories have been developed and expanded in “The Last Neanderthal Clan.” Charlie has drawn upon a lifetime of study of anthropology to make the book as realistic as possible. Charlie lives in Virginia; but has traveled extensively in Europe, where he has set his novel. He hopes that you enjoy reading the novel as much as he enjoyed writing it.
