On September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene / Tropical Storm Helene visited Western North Carolina and changed their lives forever. Communities came together to provide food, shelter, supplies, and assistance long before the government made its first appearance. No internet, no cellphones, no electricity, and no water, people learned to lean on one another and make it out alive. However, numerous lives could not be saved, and over a year later, some people are still missing.
