Book Description
"Siyo, Wakan Tankan Nici Un" = (Hello to all, May The Great Spirit Walk With Thee)
"Native American Red Road Poetry By Soaring Eagle" is a debut book of Poetry written with Native American lifestyle and culture, and the life lessons learned through his Cherokee elders (Grandmother and his mother) through his life and experiences placed upon paper.
Upon completion and publishing of this book there are over 50 years of poetry (Life experiences) within. These poems speak of love, hurt, heartbreak and the daily struggles found within a life of walking the red road, meaning...living life with purpose!
When Native American people say they are walking the “red road” it means they are living life with purpose while on a path to positive change.
Being Native American is not only a blood relationship but a state of mind. If you think like a Native, if you believe that the Great Spirit created us to take care of Mother Earth, if you can hear His voice in the silence, if you respect all creatures of the Creator, if you respect your elders and value all children, if you know you can't own any part of this world but only borrow it, if you hate lies and love beauty, and if you believe the words of our ancestors that balance will someday be restored, then I will call you my relative despite your DNA!
These practices allow us to remain connected to the animal guides so they may teach us their powers and give as lessons of life. These acts remind us that all things in creation are our brothers, sisters, cousins, and more importantly, our teachers and friends. As humans, we too are animal spirits.
Native American Indians view all things in creation as having spiritual energy. All things are connected and worthy of our respect and reverence. Our way is to seek balance and harmony within the complex tapestry of life called the Great Circle of Life. As we move within the circle, we emphasize these truths: Everything on earth is alive; Everything on earth has purpose; Everything on earth is connected; Everything on earth is to be embraced.
A principal of being occupiers of mother earth is our belief is that all things are connected and we are related to all things in the circle.
These poems speak of this circle of life in many ways.
