She taught anthropology and archaeology at the University of Saskatchewan for many years, and is the author of numerous academic books, including the bestselling Anthropology Matters.

She has written several series, including the post-apocalyptic climate survival series, Rainbow Warriors, a YA dystopian Farmcorp trilogy, and her new adult paranormal suspense trilogy, Whispers.
