Ben was raised on a multi-species dairy farm in Pennsylvania, He went on to get a college degree in Agricultural Science from Penn State and then worked over three decades as an Ag Specialist for Maryland Dept. of Agriculture. He teaches beekeeping courses at a local college and mentors those starting out.
Ben lives in the foothills of the Eastern Continental Divide and the Appalachia region along the Mason Dixon line.
He writes in the Christian non-fiction genre and focuses on devotional material that is connected with nature and animals. His first book, All Nature Sings, earned five literary awards and is currently undergoing a second edition. He has a children's rhyming picture book series called Created Critters that is geared towards the little ones just getting started with reading. They include hidden critter searches on each page. Most of his other writings are part of anthologies. Ben is a contributing author for Guideposts imprint, All God's Creatures. This is an annual daily devotional that focuses on life lessons learned by observing and engaging with animals.
Ben is still amazed and blessed by seeing his personal book shelf growing each year. His individual books and writings have been generated fourteen literary works in the past seven years. He also mentors new writers trying to fulfill their own dream of seeing their work published.
