Steve Orme is an award-winning journalist. He worked on newspapers and magazines before moving into radio and television. He has been fascinated with crime ever since he attended magistrates’ courts as a cub reporter. He published his first crime novel, Storm Deaths, in 2021. A second, Storm Bodies, was published in 2024.

He is also a playwright. His first stage play, What’s Your Poison?, about the Victorian serial killer Dr William Palmer, toured the UK in 2023. He is currently writing two more plays including one commissioned by an English theatre company.

He lives in Derby, England with his wife Sue. They have a grown-up son.
